Charm City Cross: Day 1 and 2

You might want to turn the volume down if you’re at work.

Nittany Cross: Day 1 and 2

Yeah, yeah. That’s a bottle cage on a cross bike. It’s Nittany; I didn’t think I’d have to run so much.

Granogue Cross: Lap One of Day Two

Just a little something I slapped together. A stopgap, really; it’ll be a while before I trudge through the footage—to date over 100GB worth—of the races I’ve shot so far.

Freund Canyon Trail

It really is The Easiest Trail in the World. Lot of fun. Wish we had mountains in Philadelphia.

PNWD

That’s pronounced p’oh-ned like pwned except with PNW. Forget it. We packed flip-flops and shorts when we should’ve packed hoodies and jeans. Shot with a GoPro and a Panny, edited in FCP X.

Water Ice Cross

Thanks to DLowe for putting together this awesome cross ride. Goes through the Tow Path, the Koppenberg, the Wissahickon, Forbidden Drive, Kelly’s Bluff, and Belmont. Can’t wait ’til the next one.

White Clay

Trying out my jury-rigged GoPro seatpost jig, which is pieced together from a stem’s faceplate, a clip-on aero bar, bottle cage bolts, and an end cap. Worked well, stable and unintrusive. Now if I can just figure out what to do with mud spatter.

GoPro HD Hero test footage.

Second try. My first attempt involved the helmet mount, unusable footage, and a tweaked neck. Not doing that again. Only bicycle mounting from now on.

Big Apple day trip with Margaret and Jeff

We didn’t really do much: walked around, looked at stuff, ate stuff. It was cold. Brrr. Footage mostly from the beginning of the day… I forgot to charge my batteries. Don’t view this full-screen unless you wanna sick yourself. I accidentally shot 20p. Again. Rebel t1i, Lensbaby, Final Cut Express.

Spring Mountain Cross

The season’s usually winding down by the time this race comes around. Muddy, slow, and painful course. Took only eight months to put this video together. Shot with the Rebel with a Lensbaby fisheye and a Panny TM700.

The Search for Wayne

Fair Hill in Maryland, where it meets Pennsylvania and Delaware. The last MAC race of the year, at least for us. Fisheye footage taken with the Rebel t1i and a Lensbaby. Telephoto shot with my new toy: a shiny new Panny TM700. Edited with Final Cut Express.

HPCX

Oops. I had the camera on 20 fps. Sorry for the headache and nausea. Halloween race in Jamesburg, New Jersey. Everyone said it was a tough course. Looked easy to me. Shot with a Rebel T1i and a Lensbaby. Edited on Final Cut Express.

Granogue day two

The Sunday race at the Du Pont estate. Features the men and women of the Killer Bs and some footage of the Elite Masters race. Shot with a Rebel and a Lensbaby, edited in Final Cut Express. I like it. Pretty neat what a little entry-level DSLR can do.

Granogue day one

Awesome, scary course. Lucky weather. Great spectating. The organizers did a terrific job. Featuring the men and women of the Killer Bs. Day Two to follow… eventually. Shot with a Rebel t1i and a Lensbaby. Gave up on a tutorial after three pages; spent 12 hours banging heads with Final Cut Express. I like it.

Hillbilly Hustle ’10

Now 64% shorter! A new cut of our team race in Elmer, New Jersey.

A midwest holiday in moving pictures.

An action reel of our trip to Chicago and Galesburg in 2009. First attempt at video; shot with a LensBaby on a Rebel and edited in Final Cut Express.
