Charm City Cross: Day 1 and 2
You might want to turn the volume down if you’re at work.
Gobble, gobble.
It’s been a while since I’ve been on the trails. The hard side got even harder. I think I walked most of it.
Sealing a tubeless bead.
To seal tubeless tires, I’ve been mounting the wheel on a truing stand that is clamped off-camber. Centrifugal force directs the sealant over the length of the bead, sealing the tire more efficiently than when doing the Stan’s Shake. Plus it’s easier on my delicate hands.
Nittany Cross: Day 1 and 2
Yeah, yeah. That’s a bottle cage on a cross bike. It’s Nittany; I didn’t think I’d have to run so much.
Better safe than sorry.
I set my emergency info as my lock screen for when the Road ID fails—like say when I forget to wear it, or when my ID-bearing arm is caught in the wheel well of a truck. First responders might check the phone first anyways. Bonus: they don’t have to dig around for my ICE and I can keep the phone PIN-locked.
Cresheim Road
Lately, trying to get around our neighborhood has been like playing the light cycle game.
This Crossasaurus Awesome.
Took stills to keep me on my toes. Used the original (old) 5D with the Lensbaby Fisheye Optic.
It was bound to happen.
The best part was the kid was in tears when he walked up to tell me he’d pay for the window out of his savings, all $65 of it.
Midlife Crisis
Revived the Bareknuckle, minus the pista bars and track gearing. Until today I haven’t ever ridden a fixie in Philadelphia.
Buddakan
We went pan-Asian for our third anniversary. Last year it was bison burgers at Twenty Manning. Can’t remember the year before that. Fuji Mountain?
Granogue Cross: Lap One of Day Two
Just a little something I slapped together. A stopgap, really; it’ll be a while before I trudge through the footage—to date over 100GB worth—of the races I’ve shot so far.
